| Anna Mae Tedley Lower Keys Combined Copyright Court Reporting Help 2001-2005 These drills are for both hands simultaneously. The first part of the drill contains combinations of S, K, W, R. The second part contains the right-hand letters -R, -B, -G, -S. The right-hand letters have a hyphen. These drills are the equivalent of the scales that a musician would play, playing "pepper" in baseball, and the constant shuffling of a cardsharp. All physical drills. All reaction drills. All control drills. Muscle coordination and muscle memory go hand in hand. If you are not dead positive, each and every time, that you will cleanly strike a single key, each and every time, then you will have no chance of success when you stroke a combination. Each and every time. The lower letters are the slightly harder to reach than the upper home keys. Still, they are not difficult. Everything depends on these keys being perfectly stroked. This drill follows the Single Upper Home Keys. It is not equal to it. It does not complement it. It is entirely different. When you can competently write the Single Upper Home Keys at a particular speed, then you are ready to attempt the Single Lower Home Keys at a lower speed. These are not speed drills. Control and rhythm translate to clarity and speed without stress or hesitation. Always stay up with the drill or reduce the speed. Never break this rule. For purposes of this drill, the Left-Hand Letters do not have a hyphen. Conversely, Right-Hand Letters do have a hyphen before them.
