The steno words on this list are here because they show up time after time.
They are popular words in the fields of stenography and court reporting, and they often have a brief form.
You don't need to use a steno brief for these words, but you must be able to stroke them very efficiently. Here is an easy way to learn them.
1. Stroke them any way you want, but write them with a high degree
of clarity.
2. Use a valid stroke. You won't improve if you don't even know the correct stroke. Get out that stenography dictionary.
3. Look for words that constantly give you trouble. Change the
steno brief or the outline that you use.
4. Run through this list once a day for a week. At the end of the
week, delete all of the words that you absolutely know.
5. Repeat Step 4 over and over until you have removed the majority of
the words.
6. The remaining words on the list are probably very hard for you to remember or to stroke. You may want to change their outlines.
7. Repeat Step 4 again.
